At the opening ceremony of the 37th Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) in Lagos, Nigerian government and business leaders called on young entrepreneurs to embrace innovation to address economic challenges and boost economic growth.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Doris Uzoka-Anite, said innovation is the key to Nigeria’s economic development and young entrepreneurs play an important role in the process.
She urged young entrepreneurs to utilize new technologies and innovations to address the challenges facing Nigeria such as poverty, unemployment and inequality.
The President of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michael Olawale-Cole, also called on young entrepreneurs to embrace innovation. He noted that innovation is the key to survival and growth of businesses in a competitive market.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said his administration would continue to support young entrepreneurs by providing them with necessary resources and training.
