The Wesleyan University women’s basketball team continued their winning ways on Tuesday night, defeating York (NY) 91-27. The Cardinals improve to 4-1 on the season with their three-game winning streak, all coming on the road.
First Half Dominance
The Cardinals set the tone for the game early, scoring on their first three possessions and jumping out to a 14-3 lead. Wesleyan continued to pour it on, leading 27-9 at the end of the first quarter.
Wesleyan shot 50% from the field in the first half and outrebounded York 32-14. Seven players scored for the Cardinals in the first half, with Felicia Fongemie leading the way with 10 points.
Second Half Surge
The Cardinals continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring York 44-18 to seal the victory. Wesleyan had five players reach double-figures in scoring, with Olivia Quinn leading the way with 14 points. DaCosta totaled 14 points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes. Lee contributed across the board with 12 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
