Bulls to sign point guard Carter to fill void of Ball’s absence

With Bulls starting point guard Lonzo Ball reportedly expected to miss the entire 23-24 regular season due to injury, the team is in desperate need of offseason reinforcement at the position. The addition of Carter should help fill that void. Carter is entering the sixth year of his NBA career and has spent the past season and a half with the Bucks. In 101 games for the Bucks, Carter has averaged 7.6 points and 2.4 assists in 21.4 minutes per game and is hitting 1.6 three-pointers per game on 43.7 percent three-point shooting.

A solid point guard with a 2.87 assist-to-turnover ratio in his time with the Bucks, Carter is able to execute the offense and help space the floor for his teammates with his excellent three-point shooting. Last season, Carter ranked 12th among all players with a 42.1 percent shooting percentage from long range. Meanwhile, the Bulls ranked at the bottom of the league in 3-point field goals made (10.4 per game) and attempts (28.9 per game) last season. The Bulls have high hopes that Carter will be able to perform well on the court and fill the void created by Ball’s absence.
